Actually, if you configure your DLT as a DDS drive, certain drives
(I don't know about all of them) can take advantage of the fast
search capability of DLT. <Plug Alert> the DLTs that ORBiT OEMs
are capable of this feature. </Plug Alert>

There are multiple levels of "fast search" as with DDS (e.g.
skipping tape marks vs. skipping save set marks). There is also
certain functionality that can't be emulated and would need either
direct driver support (I'm hoping that will be in HP's drivers)
or the ability to use a passthrough driver. Time will tell.
