> Can someone tell us what the turnout was for the east coast Solutions
> Symposium?

I think it was around 80, maybe a few more. The turnout was lower than
hoped for, but I believe the attendees received value from the event.

From what I've heard, the West coast Solutions Symposium should have
approx twice as many folks, and I know there will be more showing up
from vCSY, since it is close to where many of us work.

I'd also like to plug a talk that anyone who manages an e3000, or
manages someone who manages an e3000 should attend. It is Mark
Bixby's presentation on MPE/iX security, titled "Is Your Homestead
Secure?". I went to his East coast talk and learned something
new about MPE security from almost every slide. Whether you are
homesteading or not, this should be worth every minute of your
time.

Last, many of you know of Bill Cadier because he is the HP person
that is able to answer almost any MPE OS question asked on this
list and others. He will be at the West coast conference giving a
talk titled "Basic System Problem Analysis" on Friday at 1pm. I
have not heard this talk, but I know Bill and how much detailed
AND broad MPE/iX knowledge he has. Bill knows more about MPE/iX
than anyone still working on it today, and should be able to
answer your OS questions. Both Bill's and Mark's bios are, let's
just say, understated when it comes to the value they will bring
to the conference.

Sorry for the HP plugs, but I really feel these talks will be
very worthwhile...

  regards,
  Jeff Vance, vCSY
