Another alternative to this might use indirect files for specific groups of
file equations ... e.g.:

     file ^<formal_indirect_filename> = @.group.account      (actual
designator filenames match formal designator files)
or,  file ^<formal_indirect_filename> = ^<actual_indirect_filename>    (#
of files in each indirect file must match; provides 1:1 correspondence)

In our testing environment, databases and some reference files are often
shared among several accounts to conserve disk space. An application of
file equations such as this would help eliminate a lot of maintenance on
multiple sets of UDC's and command files.

Subject:  Re: Enhancements: FILE Equates

Wildcards in FILE equates would be nice ... but equally so would be Group
and Account equates ... :))
i.e. GROUP thisgroup.thisaccount = thatgroup.thataccount or ACCOUNT
thisaccount = thataccount
They could compliment the existing file equation mechanisms and adhere to
existing rules (i.e. no wildcards)
