This is overkill for your question but might be exactly what the doctor
ordered... Go to my personal web page at www.wenet.net/~ktpierce/ENVfiles/
where you'll find a file called LJ132DGB. If you put that file on your
HP3000, and then apply it to your output as an environment file...
:file printer;dev=laserjet;env=LJ132DGB
you'll get pretty good simulation of 14-7/8x11 printing complete with
'greybar', duplex, etc.
Anyway, included in that file is the code for the compression you want.
