Hi All,
Thanks for the info. I've tried installing the reg entry which appears to
have worked ok, rebooted but I still get the problem when connecting to
the mapped drive. I also tried Andreas's method :
Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Local Security
Policy, Security Options,
Microsoft Network Client: Send unencrypted password to third-party
SMB servers
But I can't track down the Microsoft Network Client. I've found Microsoft
Network Client: Digitally sign communications but this is either DISABLE
or ENABLE.
The box we have setup for this is an old 6.0 server. Any idea how I check
the version of SAMBA running on it ? I found an old readme doc in
PUB.SAMBA that mentions version 1.9.16. I guess this is a bit dated but
served it's purpose back in the day.
