The 6-7 hour delay of HP3000-L mail today was due to the posting (you
likely received) which contained attachments in excess of a megabyte.
Our license for LSMTP, the companion mail delivery agent for Listserv on
NT, only covers 50 concurrent threads. Five of those are reserved for
incoming mail, so Raven spent the afternoon sending over 1000 copies of
this huge posting down our congested Internet pipe.

Things look relatively normal for now, but there may be another hairball
at midnight when the digest goes out to the subscribers in digest
mode...

I have also turned on a "size limit" of 5000 lines for any postings
to the list for now in hopes of blocking any future "enormous"
attachments. This was just a wild guess on my part to balance out
between blocking obvious annoyances and legitimate postings; if you
feel this limit should increase/decrease drop me a private reply.
