Hi all,
We are evaluating whether or not the new "extended filenames" patch, JXQ1,
can be a General Released patch. If so then we will add it to Release 6.0,
if not then it remains a site specific patch and will not be included into
6.0. Note: the "listf, access", pause and other CI enhancements that are
dragged along with this patch will be in 6.0 -- I am just talking about the
extended filename portion. I am hopeful for a "yes" answer, but I am looking
for anyone who has encountered or expects to have problems with this
enhancement.
There is a Communicator-like article that describes JXQ1 on jazz, under
"MPE Papers / Communicator / 5.5"
MPEJXQ1 is available on jazz, under the freeware directory, for download on
non-production 5.5 systems.
If you have feedback on this patch please contact me.
Thanks and regards,
Jeff Vance, CSY
