Never raced them on purpose, but we had quite a few disc drives go
racing across the floor on October 17, 1989*.  Several drives came to
rest, sadly, upon reaching a point where someone had removed one of the
raised floor tiles and hadn't gotten around to replacing it.

*For those outside northern California, look up "Loma Prieta
Earthquake."
