After the restore, do you reboot?
You probably should.

Invariably when I do a re-install, whenever I try and start the network with NSCONTROL START it always comes back with:
DS subsystem not found
So there is something missing
So I have to wait to restore all files from the backup, and magically afterward, the network starts.
I wish I knew what that darn file (or files) that is (or are) so I could put it in my CLST tape and not wait for the full restore.
