I'd like to express my appreciation to all those folks who
provided advice further to my recent message on this topic.

We have now installed muxes to facilitate the communication
of some of the more troublesome of our terminals with the DTC
in our Data Centre. Following the fearless recommendations in
terms of RS-232 distance potential received from certain of you,
we have adopted the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy
for the rest of our lines; i.e., if a problem manifests itself
we'll plug in line drivers or a mux, else we'll proceed as we
had on the Classic.

Thanks again for the help.
