Thanks for all the suggestions.  I was off-line for a bit using my
member server PC as a test bed for the scsi drives.

The drive that I was attempting to install MPE on was recognized by
the adapter in my W2KS machine but not by Windows disk manager.  I
therefore performed a low level format on the drive from the
adapter following which W2K DM could see it.  I then placed the
drive back in the 918LX with the terminators set up as before and I
am happy to report that the INSTALL is proceeding on that drive as
I write this note.

If anything else goes wrong the list members collectively will be
the second ones to know about it.  Thank you all very much.
