Hey, place blame were blame is due -- *I* was not the original poster!  As
such, the originator (Jean) did post a retraction.  I had written her
indicating that it sounded "plausible", but I was curious as to what she
would find out from her CPR teacher.  Tom Hula then posted the snopes link
[somewhat indirectly, but sufficient enough to find the referenced article]
and I was thanking HIM for bringing it to everyone's attention that the
original really was dangerous/misleading/whatever information.

(in any case, I *was* investigating before propagating -- I was waiting for
a reasonable followup from her, either direct or to the list in general,
before I passed this along -- as such, I'm now armed with "appropriate"
information for when I receive this from other people I know, which should
be in about a day or two... ;)
