Ron,
To answer your question, the error number you are receiving indicates that you are using TPI and have fogotten to also restore the TPI "root" file, normally named "dbname0A" (for Omnidex, I'm not sure for Superdex), and any associated TPI supporting data sets/files. These files have a file code of "-410" and "-411". A signal that you are using TPI is the 3nnn error code received. Any error code that is in the 3000 number range is TPI specific.
As far as the other comments indicating that you "must" restore all data sets is not true. You can restore the root file, detail sets and associated master sets for your specific task and everything will be ok. The only problems you may have is when using Query or Supertool and you do an "FO SETS" or "FO setname" you'll get a system error #52 (Non-existant permanent file). As long as the application does not need the other sets your application will be fine. Another area is if you use ODBC, you might have problems with the connect because of the DBINFO calls to the data sets which would fail because of the missing sets. Any tool that is used that looks for all data sets will have a problem with the missing data sets. Applications that only use specific data sets will not have a problem.
I have done the same thing that you have done a number of times and have been successful, especially when disk space might be low, your test account is limited to the amount of disc space, or you don't want to spend 7+ hours restoring all of the datasets that you won't need and you only need specific data sets.

Please
We have just got in a new faster box, that is still under test. I am doing some testing on a process and wanted to use the extra resources.
I restored only the parts of an AMISYS data base that I needed to run my process, the detail sets and the associated masters for the keys I was using. However when I open the data base using SUPRTOOL or QUERY I get the Following Error.
query
