An objective opinion, if I have ever seen one (or an object-oriented
opinion? :-)

Switching into Denys-emulation mode: Well, my 500 MHz Mac PowerBook with
512 MB of RAM and 30 GB disk drive running Mac OS 9.0.4 *and* Mac OS X, with
Adobe Photoshop 5.5 (soon to become 6.0) and a zillion other applications
allows me to choose among a plethora of printers via common TCP/IP
protocols.

In fact, I have a bunch of desktop-printer icons and I can print ANY document
from ANY application on ANY printer by simply dragging and dropping the
document onto any printer icon. This is what I have been doing for years
and I thought it was the standard way of doing things. I'm sorry to hear
that it is NOT the standard way for most computer-savvy people. And I have
nothing but the greatest respect for Denys's amazing bag of tricks when it
comes to working around standard computer problems :-)

I am glad we didn't get to enjoy the non-factual, non-documented "reasons" :-)

I see...
