How about allowing SITE BUILDPARMS to work on gets, corresponding to how it
works for puts?

I know that I'm repeating myself, but this would be analogous to MVS TCP
ftp's SITE DCbdsn= command. And, since the 'template' file would be on the
client, I don't think there is any security risk.

Of course, one can have an empty target file with the right buildparms, and
append to it...

File equations or alike would probably not work quite well, considering
the fact that all ftp server processes do live under INETD as of 6.0 and
thus inside a single job... Remember that FILE and SETVAR are not local
to a process, but apply to the whole session/job.

Lars.

(not even having spent a thought on security implications of SITE XEQ)
