Well, the CE came and replaced the 4.3GB drive that showed up in DSTAT
with a status of UNKNOWN. But, the replacement drive was bad. Luckily
he had another one in his car.

To exercise the two new drives, I was using the MPEX ALTFILE command to
move some large databases from one drive to the other. Is it possible
that this could have overwritten the label on the master of my private
volume set? There were no errors in the log files for this drive, and
the diagnostics didn't show any errors either. The CE went ahead and
replaced the drive since he couldn't figure out how it "fell out" of the
volume set.
