I thought the same. My heart skipped a beat...

I ran the program on my Gavinized laptop (RedHat Linux 7.2 running under
VMware) and the program simply returned:

[wonsil@localhost wonsil]$ ./a.out
Segmentation fault
[wonsil@localhost wonsil]$ _

Now, others more knowledgeable than I, which there are many, may know how to
get a stack dump too, but this was the vanilla response.

The maturity question is on my mind too. I have to say that Linux sure has
changed a lot since I first loaded a Slackware version back in the early
'90s. It certainly has come a long way in the last few years. What do you
think it will be like at the EOL of MPE?

Mark
