I had a similar offer from an American tire company once.
They were looking for an operator, programmer and system-analyst.
fluent in German and English, 24*7 available, coordinate IT with HQ in the
US and living in the Frankfurt, Germany area for fast response.
The salary offered was a joke and when asked about the cost-of living in
Frankfurt I was told that all employees live at least 45minutes in the
country. Gas & company-car was not offered either.
I just laughed and hung up the phone.
