Hi Kim,

It is possible you have some directory corruption.

Firstly I would recommend contacting HP support if you are able, they will be able
to assist more directly than I could, I'm just a labbie.

The problem *sounds* like directory corruption because files are identified by
something called a "UFID" or unique file identified. This UFID contains a volume ID.
If the UFID is corrupt in such a way that the volume ID is bogus then it will look like
that volume set is not mounted when in fact it doesn't even exist.

Bad hardware can cause directory corruption but there could be other reasons as
well.

Identifying this could be as simple as running FSCHECK however it is important that
this only be run when there is no activity on the system and I would very highly
recommend that it be run only after consulting with HP support.
