Greetings,
I tried to install a VPLUS patch last Saturday but wasn't able to boot the
system from ldev7. HPRC suggested that our firmware probably doesn't
support a 90 meter tape and to use a 60 meter. I did, with the same result.
The system says it's booting then says "Entry_test status = 0". After a few
moments the system then says, "Failed to initialize, Entry_init Status =
-4".
HPRC wants us to try to boot from ldev 8 to see if that works, but at this
point we don't really want to kick our users off in order to try something
that might also fail.
HP thinks our tape drive is at fault, but it has been doing successful
backups. Ldev 7 is a DDS 2.
A small hint is that when trying to boot, the light on the DAT drive does
NOT blink. It stays a solid green.
(and yes, I've cleaned and re-cleaned the drive).
All suggestions are appreciated.
