If you are running the DOS-based Reflection Network Series and using NS/VT to
talk to your 3000, perhaps you are seeing this known problem.
The scenario goes something like this. Customer upgrades from MPE/iX 4.x to
MPE 5.0. All works fine with RNSDOS VTMGR.EXE. The customer then adds the
first group of patches for MPE/iX 5.0 and CNTRL-Y (break request) no longer
works. The patch numbers are:
NSSDDQ3
NMSDDT3
NSTDDT1
NSSDDW6 (separate patch some sites have added later)
NSTDDT1 is supposed to be OK as is. The other patches are bad news for VTMGR.
We have also heard from customers that some of these patches are shipping with
MPE/iX 5.02 and are installed automatically.
To resolve the problem, we have an updated vtmgr.exe and that can be
downloaded from our anonymous ftp server at ftp.wrq.com in the /restrict
directory. The filename is patchvtm.exe, which is the latest vtmgr.exe.
