Rather than "information distribution," this sounds much more like
"marketing," or even "preaching to the choir." And since (thankfully!)
the list no longer distributes attachments, I guess you mean LINKS to
the aforementioned brochures, etc.

I assume such information is always available from businessservers.hp.com,
though short announcements of updates could be useful.

That is certainly useful!

"Together" can only be a good thing! :)

Fortunately, CSY has long a strong *technical* presence here. It sounds
like you would like to expand that, to include a strong *managerial*
presence, discussing overall strategy. Such a partnership is certainly
welcome.

The toughest part, I suspect, is getting the attention of those whom
you seek. That is, technical people simply MUST share information,
or be left with either unsolved problems or suboptimal solutions.
Getting management (from client sites) to participate is likely more
of a challenge.

But getting HP management listening to, and more actively
participating in, discussions on hp3000-L is a very welcome step.

Hopefully the recent flame wars will not dissuade you or your
colleagues from this decision. But you might learn more about
refrigerators in the process. ;)

Always! :)
