I'd certainly second that! I'm still doing some testing on the .5 port but
so far I've not seen a failure of a single file copy! This has included
files up to 3MB individually, and about 30MB in a single subdirectory.
I'd certainly like to discuss the invalid character mapping ideas face
to face :) (: In my opinion this one product has the potential to
pull the majority of 3000 users closer to MS Windows users than any
other connectivity product (including 32-bit ODBC) out there. How
'bout it Lars? Jeri?

Subject: [HP3000-L] FW: Samba & Lars made the teleconference!

Lars said:

>Me? On the broadcast? How did I look like?

>Guess it was a virtual reality simulation as
>I haven't left Germany for several weeks now.

Hmmmm....... Germination of an idea:
Maybe we should change that.....

>Will I become rich and famous now!? ;-) ;-)

[....SNIP technical details update....]

Well Lars, I can't help you with the "rich" part, but here's an
attempt to assist with the "famous": If you are not already
planning to attend IPROF-97 on 3-6 March in Santa Clara,
CA, I would solicit a chorus of supporting calls from the
other usual suspects on this list to convince your managers
that they ought to allow you to do that. Samba is clearly
one of the current hot topics in the 3000 world; seems to
me we should have the person doing the port at IPROF....

Besides, we don't get many media stars to attend.... ;-)

Let's see..... My HP 3000 Solution Team matrix says that
Jeri Ann Smith is the leader of the Internet/interoperability
solution team...... Hello Ms. Smith: If he doesn't already
have one, how about sending Lars a plane ticket ?? :-)
