Strange as it may sound, some companies with a need to accept
a small number of credit card payments use PayPal (www.paypal.com).

They're easy for the customer to use, and don't charge an arm and a
leg.  Of course, they're probably more expensive than doing a
real setup to directly take credit cards.

I've been very pleased with PayPal's ease of use.
