Hi all,

For some unknown reason I do not have the original posting on our
news servers ...

What Wesley describes sounds like the problem that we have fixed with
MPELX39, which is included in 6.5 PP1 and upper. Another indication
would be that you are getting console messages on the console stating
that the spooler detected a PowerFail condition and therefore retries
the operation.
I would however always suggest to check that the patch was really
installed,
it has certainly happened in the past that some patches in a Powerpatch
bundle do not qualify during installation, and this may not have been
noticed.

To me this does not sound like Wesley's problem.
In fact it sounds like one that has not been reported to us in the
expert center or in the lab.
If you can duplicate it, I suggest you get in touch with the
Response Center, asking them to tell you how to produce a network
spooler
trace (and possibly a network trace) covering the period of time and
commands, and work with my colleagues and me in WTEC to analyse this.

That assumes you are having a problem with a network spooled printer
and not a DTC serially connected one, which is not my area of
expertise, I am afraid, but I think it would still be worthwile
to report it to the RC and check with them if your system is current
with regards to terminal IO (DTS) patches.

No, we are having all the same patches/fixes for the network spooler
available in parallel on 6.0 , 6.5 and 7.0 ; only the currently newest
patch might be available a bit sooner on some OS release, depending
on the 'demand'.

HTH,
Goetz.
