I agree with you, and we use DDS virtually everywhere. Further we are in
progress of converting our 1/2" tapes to DDS using XOVER.
So why do we still need the 7980's??? Simple answer, many of the parties we
deal with do not have DDS technology, nor plan to go to it in the near future.
These parties range from banks, federal/state/local governmental agencies, and
third-party vendors.
