Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about Mystery Mansion's
origins -- just fyi, the web URL to www.catbelly.com is the link to
my own port of the game. The source code I had was not helpful at all
when it comes to learning more about its origins, but upon doing a
search of Interex, I found that at least one person has mentioned
a "Bill Wolpert" as being the author. I suppose it's too much to expect
anyone to know of this fellow :)

On another note, it looks like there is source code on the CSL tapes
which is quite different from what I used as the basis of my C port.
Specifically, "Number: 4691, Language: FTN77" is the listing for the
game on Interex (http://www.interex.org/cgi-bin/dodetail?4691) that
I'm interested in. The source code I used for the basis of my port
was Fortran IV (aka Fortran 66) so this version could be much more
recent.

I don't have access CSL tapes or anything on them. Is there anyone
that has this, or access to it, who can pull it off and mail it to
me? My email address is [log in to unmask] (remove the
XYZZY to obtain the real address); I only use deja because I want to
avoid the spam email-harvesters. The files in the CSL package that
I'm interested in are:

       mystery_subs.ftn * Libra
       mystery.ftn * Main
       mystery_seg10.ftn * Segm
       mystery_seg11.ftn * Segm
       mystery_seg12.ftn * Segm
       mystery_seg1.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg2.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg3.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg4.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg5.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg6.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg7.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg8.ftn * Segme
       mystery_seg9.ftn * Segme

These are all the f77 source files listed.

Any help in obtaining this would be greatly appreciated; I gladly
acknowledge all help in the software of the port.

BTW, if you're interested in this C version, it lives at the URL
given in a previous message, namely:

   http://www.catbelly.com/src/mm/mystery.html

This is a port of the revision I had (#17); it's been stable enough
now to keep most folks happy, and should compile with any ANSI C
compiler.

Again, any help with obtaining copies of the aforementioned f77 source
files would be very much appreciated!

~james
