I plan to do something like this but my other works are delaying the
completion of the task. I began to develop a program which can read the
labels of the BRW intermediate report file, and it contructs PASCAL
RECORD declarations from the file label. This declarations can be
included in a special program which reads the intermediate report file,
reads the original string and writes back the slightly modified string
into an other field. The second BRW program can read the intermediate
report file again and sort the report on this modified string field.

I have an other problem which can be solved with the same steps:

BRW report1    ---->IRF

Program generator<--Labels of IRF
v
Pascal program <--->IRF

BRW report2    <----IRF

I have to make some counting with real numbers, which is too complicate
for the BRW and/or uses such mathematical functions which are not included
into the standard functions of the BRW.

If I have complete and general solution of the problem, I plan to send it
to the Interact and try to publish it. (Do you know an other place for
publications?)

I glad to meet you. Please send me some other experiences and rules of
thumb of the BRW usage.
                                Sincerely
                                              Frank
