Anything wrong with my eyes? Can't seem to find an HP emulation in
the above list -- which I would have assumed as a potential reason
for posting this advertorial to HP3000-L

Lars ;-)

Hi Lars:

There is nothing wrong with HP emulation. MiniSoft started out on HP3000's
16 years ago and as you know we produce an extensive list of products for
this platform.

MiniSoft 92 is our HP terminal emulation product. It is currently being
ported to Windows CE for use on palmtops. We will announce MiniSoft 92 for
Windows CE at the Interex show in San Diego. So there will be a robust,
full-featured HP terminal emulator for Windows CE palmtops. MiniSoft 92 for
the palmtop will even make NS/VT network connections and include our FTP
client for network speed file transfers. We will have a couple of palmtops
in our booth showing off both MiniSoft 92 and PowerTerm for Windows CE.

PowerTerm is one of our other connectivity products. It is now available
for Windows CE. The reason we posted to the 3000 list is there are more
than just HP3000 users lurking around. In fact many of the users on this
list also use other boxes like AS/400's, HP9000's, RS6000's, and IBM
mainframes. PowerTerm addresses all of these platforms. So we posted to
the list to get to these people. Plus there has been some discussion
recently regarding what connectivity products were available for Windows CE.

For what it is worth I had a Hewlett Packard employee inquire about
PowerTerm for Windows CE as a result of our HP3000L post. He wasn't
interested in HP700/92 emulation (I specifically asked him) but was
interested in VT420 emulation. The reason was he was connecting to a HP9000
box that had an application requiring a DEC terminal interface and keyboard
remapping. The emulation that comes with Windows CE is only VT100 with no
remapping.

So we posted the PowerTerm CE information to get to guys like this Hewlett
Packard employee. I can't explain why he would be on the 3000L but I am
glad we found each other :-)

Thanks for the feedback,

Doug Greenup
