I'm not sure what is required of me to join the OpenMPE movement, I am just a lowly programmer, haven't got a big bag of money to contribute. I did put in my vote for the OpenMPE Board members. As far as the discussion group, well, I thought this was the MPE discussion group, why do we have more than one group? MPE Users will Kick Butt, but only if we stick together, divided we will fail.

Mike,
I hear and feel your frustration. Have you joined the OpenMPE movement and
discussion group? The desire of this movement is to get HP to release MPE
to a new company, OpenMPE, which is owned and operated by the users and
vendors of MPE. This would allow OpenMPE to continue maintaining and
enhancing MPE well beyond the end of 2006. The movement has really picked
up quite a bit of steam, but ever voice added make the desire ring even
louder in HP's ears.
Thanx,

Subject: [HP3000-L] Companies with MPE Investments?
I haven't been reading much on the list lately (great listserv, just been
busy), so I may touch on a thing or two that has already been discussed. I
just want to spill my guts here, and maybe get some good ideas or direction
from others on the list. Main reference to HP-e3000 users, businesses that
have invested 10, 20, or more years into developing their own business
applications on the MPE/IMAGE/VPLUS/COBOL platform. Are they looking at a
complete re-write within the next 10 years?
[SNIP, too much stuff to re-post]
