What some people fail to understand is that election of the president
has never been about the popular vote.

Each state has the right to decide how they will choose their slate of
electors. It just so happens that all states have chosen to go with a
popular vote method where they could easily have chosen to have them
selected by their governor, their state congress or random lottery.

If fact in several states there are movements to change the selection of
electors from the popular vote gets them all, to each sides electors
being selected based on the vote ratio.

It's that whole pesky state's rights thing that this country was founded
on. 

Now if we could just get the federal government back on track and
working inside its original mandate of foreign relations, national
defense and regulating interstate commerce as apposed to welfare,
education, health care, etc...
