Have you tried adding a "banner"
or leading "header" of some sort instead?
If Headers are turned on and the user logs
on with "DRAFT,user.account", the old fashioned
MPE header would appear.
(Of course everyone else would get a header too,
but that's another story.)

Subject: Print environment?
Hi, Listers!
Can we define a file equation for a printer that adds a line on the
printout with some information?
Let me explain better:
I define a file equate for user A on its logon UDC with says:
FILE DRAFTPRT;DEV=300
and I'd like that any printout done to that printer says (for example)
*** DRAFT ***
Is there an easy way of doing it?
Thanks in advance,
