If I am not mistaken HP changed to a new performance measurment scheme
sometime late last year.

I thought about that, but my recollection from the Solution Symposium and
SIG3000 was that the performance improvements were really only at the high
end with systems having 6 or more processors. It is sort of hard to believe
that an across-the-board 30% gain could be achieved through performance
tuning. If it has been achieved, and I were running CSY, I'd be shouting it
from the rooftops and urging people to skip 6.0 and go directly to 6.5.

The performance rating changes *may* be due to the new, 6.5 release of
MPE/iX and the extensive performance tuning HP did in this release.
