I think a low buy-in is important, since that's what the whole machine is
about: get something that independent developers can use to jack up the
base of available software.

However, there are also going to be specialized needs, so perhaps HP
could offer optional, low-cost "add-on" packages for those developers who
want to target specialized markets. In the current environment, NS might
be in that category.

I still don't understand the Dictionary/3000 issue; with TurboIMAGE,
Transact/iX, and COBOL already in the mix, Dictionary seems like a
no-brainer. We're a Transact shop, and have zero lines of COBOL, but I'd
sure hate to try to do our work without Dictionary.
