Fair enough. If that's all you saw then that may partly clarify your hostility to the marchers. Still don't see how lack of a sign means one is pro-Saddam. You're right about the signs, generally speaking, since I personally don't recall any explicitly having a go at Saddam. Perhaps the fact that we're not apologists for him could be taken for granted?
