WOW, what a shock and surprise. Dick just interviewed me on the OpenMPE
movement about this time last month. It's always a sad day when we loose a
beautiful soul, and such a strong member of the community.

Gentle HP 3000 list members,
It was with great sorrow that I learned earlier this evening of the passing
away of Dick Kranz. Over the years many of us in the 3000 world have been
interviewed by Dick, (AKA Dicke Bird) . I remember him fondly as always
having a mischievous glint in his eyes and a funny, often pithy comment on
his lips. I also had the honor and privilege of calling him friend for many
years. Dick passed away during the night of Monday/Tuesday this week of a
heart attack. It was sudden and peaceful.
Dick had been with Interex as editor for 13 years until his retirement in
April of 1999. Even after his retirement, he continued to write
occasionally for Interex.
If you wish to send a card or otherwise express you condolences to his

If you wish to make a donation in his memory:

or

Rest in Peace. Dickie Bird.
Kind regards and very sadly,
Denys Beauchemin
