In the past, I have tried to connect laptops to cell phones. Not a pretty
sight, but it can be done. If you are intent on pursuing this slow,
expensive method, visit www.mobileplanet.com. Several months ago now, I
finally got hooked on the solution that works well for me. This is the
iPAQnet from Compaq. I signed up and bought a wireless Sierra AirCard with
the CDPD service. This solution costs $39.95 per month for unlimited usage,
anywhere in these United States. As we speak, I am in the mountains of
Pennsylvania and I am hooked up to the Internet via this wonderful little
card. I can use it in my laptop or my Pocket PC. It is a PC-card type II
card with a small antenna extending from it. The speed is not phenomenal,
19.2kbps, but it is dependable. And my cellphone's battery is left alone.
Kind regards,
Denys. . .

Subject: OT : Laptop to Cellfone to Internet
Hi all,
I need to know what all accessories (like PC or Modem cards or slots) I
would be needing to have my Toshiba Satellite Laptop connected to the
Internet via my Cellphone Nokia 6162 model (any accessories or cables), etc
? Has anyone tried this combination before ? If so, any ad's or disad's in
the performance, any issues, costliness factors, etc ? Thanks in advance...
With Best Regards
