Oh Brice....  was that necessary?

Actually, we've been involved in the Middle East, to one extent or another,
since WWII.  The names and regimes and even national boundaries have
changed, but the conflicts remain.  If you REALLY want to split hairs, we
(using a larger WE) have been involved there since the Middle Ages.

I for one am fed up to the gills with humanity's fondness for finding any
little excuse to emulate ant colonies attempting to decimate neighboring
ant colonies.  Religious wars, political wars, economic wars, even
philosophical wars are simply an interesting exercise in the exertion of
power, with a side order of population control.
