I have a customer with a 918 and a DTC 48.

1) He uses it for exclusively for serial printers and one dial in port.

2) The printers stop their spooler daily, without reason at any time.

3) It is known that the spoolers will also stop consistently once, at night.

4) The DTC is connected via an AUI transceiver on a hub.

5) The 918 is also connected via an AUI transceiver on a hub (the very
next port in fact).

6) Known short term fixes are for a specific LDEV:

    a) ABORTIO ldev
    b) STOPSPOOL ldev
    c) SHUTQ ldev
    d) OPENQ ldev
    e) STARTSPOOL ldev
    f) repeat (a-e)
    g) sometimes resetting the DTC followed by (a-e) also works.

7) We've made sure with NETCONTROL;STATUS commands that there are not a
lot of errors on the LAN.

8) Someone at HP told the customer that a DTC connected at some devices
will drop connectivity if connected to a "switching hub". We we moved it
off a one of these (yes it was on one) to a "regular hub". The problem
didn't go away.

9) We've also tried parts of step 6 above in batch jobs at night to keep
the printers "alive".

Any suggestions?
