If you mean run them SE using a separate 16-bit SE SCSI adapter, as
opposed to using a Diff/SE converter with the FWD card, you'll get the
same performance either way: a 10MHz data rate over a 16-bit bus. I
vaguely recall that the MFIO card's SCSI connector is 8-bit; if that's
the case, you don't want to connect the drive there. I don't know if any
of HP's SCSI controllers are Fast-20 (a.k.a. "Ultra") or not.

There are numerous versions on the market; the ones I have are from
Ancot. Search in your favorite Web engine for "differential scsi
converter". Or search the hp3000-l archives; this topic has come up
