We have a task at hand migrating from a 969-420 to a 989-650. Our intent was to
migrate
via SRDF from EMC, however the powers to be have put the purchase on hold. We
are a 24*7
production shop and we do not have the use of Software shadowing as well. My
question is,
are there any means to mass transfer files via DSLINE, FTP, ... We have 100vg
connectivity
on the 989-650 side comming from a 10mb pipe on the 969-420. Is it worth
migrating anything
via the lan as well as doing multiple tape / dat restores. We are trying to cut
down the time required
to go live from the smaller system with minimal impact to the users. Our current
on-line backup
takes over 16 hours storing to one DLT4000. We are considering taking our
largest account
and storing it to a dds2 with compression and having the ability to restore this
account while the
remaining accounts are still being stored to the DLT.

Thanks in advance for your help
