Lee Gunter who wrote about putting EDITOR.PUB.SYS on LDEV1:

I ran into the missing EDITOR.PUB.SYS file the first time I did a disaster
recovery test on my DR provider's computer several years ago. Since that time I
have added EDITOR.PUB.SYS to my SLT tape. It's pretty easy to add files to the
SLT. You just have to be sure that the file you want on the SLT currently
resides on LDEV 1. Otherwise, the SLT creation process fails and you're worse
off than you were without the editor.

For those fortunate users that have MPEX, a much easier method for "moving"
files is to use the ALTFILE command with the ;DEV=1 option.
Thanks Doug for giving a heads-up about the PERFLOG file. I have added that to
my SLT also. Does anyone know of any other files that should have been included
on the SLT but weren't? For those among us that don't know how to add files to
the SLT, use the instructions below:
1. Logon as MANAGER.SYS
2. Invoke SYSGEN utility
3. Get into the SYsfile subsection
4. Add the file using the AS option
5. HOld your work
6. EXit the subsection
7. KEep your changes to Config.sys group
8. Exit SYSGEN
Sample dialog below:
ZEUS PUB: SYSGEN

Now, when you create an SLT it will contain the "new" files.
