Dear All,

I have one HP-9000 L-Class 3000 server with ver 11.00, with RAM 1 G.B and
one Autoraid Box. I have connected one Ultirum-230 tape drive which can
store 200 GB data in one tape. The tape performance as per HP is 30 MB per
sec.

If I am using tar command for backup I am getting 5 MB per second
performance.
If I am using dd command then I am getting 3 MB per per seconds.

Tape drive is connected on separate Ultra-2 SCSI controller.

Any Third party software or patches are required for the performance ?

Also I have 2 autoraid box and cluster also.

Why I am getting this much poor performance.

With Warm Regards

Harpreet Singh Chana
