Your problem may seem similar, but is definitely different from the one
suffered by some individuals, myself included, when moving to MPE/iX 6.0
from MPE/iX 5.5.
A couple of questions first. Why did you have a subsys tape? If you were on
Express-3 prior to going to PP7 then the only reason you should have a
subsys tape would be if you purchased something additional. Did you?
But more importantly, assuming for the moment you were supposed to apply a
subsys tape, why did you do it separately with Autoinst? It could have, and
SHOULD have been applied with the PowerPatch 7 tape using Patch/iX in one
step - well, at least only one update from tape.
My guess, and it is only an educated guess at best since I do not have an
Express-3 system to check version numbers, is that after applying PP7, you
applied the subsys tape from Express-3 and stepped on some modules. I do not
believe Autoinst does any checking and will let you shoot yourself in the
foot like this.
Before proceeding, you should try to discuss this situation with the
Response Center. I suspect you will need to re-apply PP7. You probably will
be able to simply update from the CSLT you created originally using Patch/iX
and your PP7 tape. But, again, try to discuss this first with the RC.

Subject: Network problem after upgrading to powerpatch 7 on 5.5
Hi all,
We had similar problems with our system after upgrading from powerpatch
3 to 7. We used the Patch-iX for the Powerpatch and Autoinst for the
SUbsys tape. After running JCONFJOB and concluding the processes. We
decided to start the machine (+ network processes). We got the following
error with NSCONTROL.
:>nscontrol start
Network service software versions do not match. (CIERR 5077)
Nscontrol command error. (CIERR 5400)
:>
I ran NMMAINT and discovered this section below:

Presently we can no longer make use of DSLINE and Information access. I
have tried (several attempts) to use a downloaded copy of NSSFD16A from
the ESC web site, this did not work since the unpackp command kept on
saying I should get another copy!!!.
Any suggestions pls HELP.
Regards,
Yomi
