Except for the fact that all extents for a single file must be in the
same Label Table, and a Label Table is limited by at least two items:
it can't be more than 20 extents, and has to reside on a single disk drive.

Quite true. My SMUG estimate, :), ignored the 4GB file size limit
(partially because I was hoping for files > 4GB some day!)
BTW, after another 24 hours, my file is up to 183,350 extents, and
taking about 1.3 seconds per new extent.
