This sounds like cool stuff.  If your CHECKCPU cmd file isn't too huge, maybe
you could post it (?).  If it is huge, maybe you could post the cpu-checking
part and snip the text-message part.  No way do I want the computer calling me
in the middle of the night, but I have a job that checks for hung backups (and
aborts them) and your method of checking sounds better than mine.

Does your backup job pause for anything like tape rewinding before verify, or
waiting for other jobs to log off?  And how much would that mess up the
showproc routine?
