I originally posted this on 27/5/97 but it seems to have diverted to the bit
bucket in the sky..... so..

Apologies for the waste of bandwidth, I was rather hasty when I posted the
following :

[snip]
>I am prepared to host a "Totally Free" listing of Consultants on a web page at
my website.
>It will be nothing fancy but seeing as I already provide a list of HP3000
resources on the net at
>http://www.tcp.co.uk/~jdunlop/index.html, it will be at no cost to myself
(except for some time)
>to provide a list of Consultants.
>
>If anyone is interested in adding their company names, URLs and e-mails to such
>a list, please send to me at [log in to unmask]

In my haste, I overlooked the existing "Free" Consultants List which has
already been compiled by
Brian Duncombe which he pointed out in his note:

>[snip]
> I edit the listing at
>http://www.3k.com/directory/hpvend.html
>
>I have made offers at SigConsult on several occasions that the listings
>that I maintain are FREE of charge. In spite of that, I have had almost no
>takers from the SigConsult group.
[snip]
>Take a look when you get the chance, the listing under the category of
>CONSULTANT is certainly more useful than the one at Interex.
>
>The offer still stands, if you would like a listing for your company and
>that company can be construed to be a vendor in the HP community, send me
>the information and I will make it happen. We have over 500 vendor
>companies, indexes by product and category (CONSULTANT is one).

>BTW, 3k Associates graciously supplies the facilities to host this
>directory and we should, IMHO, all thank 3k for their tremendous support in
>any number of ways to add value to the HP community.
>
>Brian Duncombe [log in to unmask] http://www.triolet.com

Therefore, it makes more sense for me to withdraw my offer and to point people
to Brian Duncombe's site
so the information (and much more) can be consolidated in one place. I will be
sending a note directly to
those who have already sent their information to me.

Since the original posting I have read more mail from Brian Duncombe, Stan
Sieler and Bill Lancaster and I have to agree with everything they say about
Interex charging $100 for Consultant List entries etc. I hope the exposure they
get in this list persuades them to drop the fee. In any event, Brian's list
does it for me anyway. Thanks Brian (and 3k).

Cheers,
John Dunlop
