We've done essentially the same thing with Netware for both HP LaserROM and
Instant Information.  Once installed, the LASERROM.INI and INSTINFO.INI
files may be edited to point to the mapped drive containing the data.  Our
desktop engineering folks have created install scripts to map the data
drive and edit the .INI files for the users.  Works very well.
