Perhaps people who post humor could check the archives to see if their
"new" humor is in fact old. In this case, the piece had been posted as
far back as 1997.

Incidentally, searching the HP3000-L archives
(<http://www.optc.com/Webbot/search.html>) for "chicken" returns 47
separate threads in which chickens were discussed in one way or another.
The most useful of these is probably
<http://www.optc.com/Webbot/Thread4419.html>, which was a follow-up to
its runner-up, <http://www.optc.com/Webbot/Thread4412.html>.
