CAVEAT: Common law also says that when a contractor writes something, it is
his intellectual property unless there is an agreement to the contrary.
This pops up unexpectedly most often when you contract with someone to
develop software for you and then assume that you own the code. If you
want to own the finished product, better include that as part of a written
agreement.
